The short version. No account, no sign-up, no profile. Your library, reading history, bookmarks and statistics are stored in encrypted storage on your own phone and are never uploaded to us. We do not sell personal data. We do not host any manga, and we cannot see which pages you read.
1. Who we are
This policy covers the Manga Browser Android application
(package com.mangabrowser.app) and this website. Throughout this document,
“we”, “us” and “the app” refer to Manga Browser.
2. What Manga Browser actually is
Manga Browser is a web browser and reader. It ships with no manga, comics or images of its own, and it does not host, store or distribute any content. You decide which website to visit, exactly as you would in Chrome. The app then renders that site's own pages in a cleaner reading view. Any content you see comes from the third-party website you chose to open.
This matters for your privacy: when you browse a third-party site inside the app, that site can see you the same way it would in any browser — its own cookies, its own logs, its own privacy policy. We are not a proxy and your traffic does not pass through our servers.
3. Data stored on your device only
The following never leaves your phone. It lives in encrypted local storage and is deleted when you clear the app's data or uninstall it:
- Library — the titles you saved and which shelf they are on (Reading, Paused, Plan to read, Completed).
- Reading history and progress — chapters opened and how far you got.
- Reading statistics — counts and time spent, shown on the statistics screen.
- Recent sites and bookmarks — the URLs you visited or saved, plus their favicons.
- Browser data — cookies and cache belonging to the sites you open, handled by the system WebView.
- Downloads — PDFs you exported, saved to your device storage.
- Settings — theme, language and reader preferences.
4. Data we do receive

None of this includes your name, email address, phone number or the specific pages you read. We never send the URLs you visit, your library or your reading history to any server.
5. Advertising
The app is free and supported by ads served through Google AdMob. Ads appear in the app's own interface — they are never injected into the third-party pages you read. AdMob may use your device's advertising ID to show more relevant ads and to measure performance.
You can reset or delete that ID at any time in Android Settings → Privacy → Ads, which also lets you opt out of ad personalisation. Google's own handling of ad data is described at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
6. Ad and tracker blocking
While you browse, the app blocks requests to a built-in list of known ad and tracker domains and hides ad containers on the page. This blocking runs entirely on your device. We do not log which requests were blocked, and no record of it is sent anywhere.
7. Permissions the app asks for
- Internet / network state — required to load the websites you open.
- Storage — only to save PDF exports and downloads you asked for.
- Notifications — optional; used for app update and announcement pushes. You can deny or revoke it and the app keeps working.
We do not request access to your contacts, camera, microphone, location or accounts.
8. Children
Manga Browser is not directed at children under 13. It is an open web browser, and the third-party sites it can reach may contain material unsuitable for minors. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Your choices and rights
- Delete everything — clear the app's data in Android Settings, or uninstall it. Both wipe your library, history and statistics permanently.
- Opt out of analytics — disable analytics collection from the app's settings screen.
- Reset your ad ID — Android Settings → Privacy → Ads.
- Request deletion from us — use the data deletion page. Because there is no account, this covers the analytics and push identifiers tied to your install.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights under the GDPR or the CCPA to access, correct, export or erase your personal data, and to object to processing. Write to us and we will honour them. We have never sold personal data and have no plans to.
10. Data retention
On-device data lasts until you delete it. Analytics and crash data are retained by Google under Firebase's own retention settings (currently up to 14 months for analytics events) and are then deleted automatically.
11. Security
Local data is held in encrypted storage. Connections to our services and to Google's use HTTPS. No system is perfectly secure, but because we hold no accounts, passwords, or payment details, there is very little about you for anyone to take.
12. Third-party websites
Sites you open in the browser are outside our control and have their own privacy policies and tracking. Reading them inside Manga Browser does not put us between you and them. Please review the policy of any site you use.
13. Changes to this policy
We will update this page when our practices change and revise the “last updated” date above. Material changes will also be announced in the app.
